Criminal Justice Academy

This course is designed to introduce the student to the fundamental study of Criminal Justice and of  career options within law enforcement, the court system, and the correctional system. The course will familiarize the student with both the theoretical and practical issues, as well as the practical skills related to law enforcement operations, the courts and correctional systems.

To provide the students with the fundamental knowledge, and understanding of the Criminal Justice Career field to prepare them for post-secondary education and training for employment as a Criminal Justice professional. Also the content includes career opportunities in these fields, interpersonal and communication skills, and employability skills. Practical skills training, simulated role-playing exercises, subject matter expert guest speakers, and field trips all compliment the classroom instruction.
